riskatarian
when people ask me my political orientation, i'm going to answer, i'm a riskatarian. which you've probably never heard of. cause i just made it up. i explain. i believe you have the right to put yourself at risk as much as you want. but you can't put me at risk. i used to say, i have the right to put myself at risk as much as i want. but not you. which, while delightfully ambiguous, is about as clear as mud. and i'd be more than a little pleased if this philosophy went mainstream. so i'd better be clear what i mean. you have the right to drink. but not drink and drive. cause that puts me at risk. you have the right to kill yourself by smoking. but nowhere i might go. cause that puts me at risk. you don't have to wear a seat belt. or a motorcycle helmet. cause there's no risk to me. works pretty well, no? let's put it to the test. you think vaccinations are harmful. so you choose to not put yourself at that imaginary risk. but the diseases you spread are harmful to others. ergo you must be vaccinated. even against your will. get over it. next topic: guns. good guys with guns make me safer. bad guys with guns make me less safe. so i'm in favor of good guys having guns. and opposed to bad guys having guns. so put up with the background checks and the registrations and all the other bullshit. or lose your weapons. cause i have no choice but to assume you're a bad guy.
